Training, consultation, and supervision in psychological approaches for psychosis.
Who we are
Psychosis Therapy Skills Hub was founded by Dr Rachel Brand, Clinical Psychologist, with the aim of providing a platform to upskill psychologists and other mental health professionals in Australia in providing psychological support to people experiencing psychosis. Psychological therapies for psychosis are recommended in clinical guidelines and supported by research, however many clinicians don’t feel confident in this space due to a lack of training and supervision.
Rachel has worked in the public mental health system in the UK and Australia for over 20 years. This has included work in community mental health teams, early intervention in psychosis services, and in specialist psychology services for people experiencing psychosis. Rachel has also been committed to developing and researching therapies for psychosis and has published widely in the area and is chief investigator and therapy lead on a government funded clinical trial of psychological therapies for people who hear distressing voices.
Rachel is an experienced supervisor and trainer and has supervised and trained psychologists and other mental health professionals within the public mental health system as well as holding academic roles on postgraduate psychology training programs.
Rachel is based on the Sunshine Coast, QLD, and is available for face to face or online supervision and in person and online training across Australia.
Rachel brings a calm energy, passion for the work, and in-depth knowledge and practical skills focus to her supervision and teaching.
